Japanese Listening Practice (10/13)
こんにちは!わたしはきょうビデオをききました。
I felt that it was time to practice my listening skills by watching a video on YouTube. I watched the entire video (almost 30 mins) with Japanese subtitles, but at about halfway through the video, I added English subtitles.
My impression of the video is that I felt it was excellent for beginners because it included a Japanese subtitle, and the person in the video talked at a slower pace for the viewer to understand. I felt that this video wasn’t too challenging to understand and was near my language level, but there were still a handful of phrases that I wasn’t familiar with.
However, I have been seeing a huge improvement in my Japanese because I was able to recognize several words in the video. I recognized words from all of our chapters, and this allowed me to get an idea of what the person in the video was talking about. For example, I noticed some of our older vocabulary such as かいもの, たくさん, いきます, でも, ちょっと, あとで, and みます. I was able to notice some of our newer vocabulary from lesson 3 as well! This includes the phrases いきましょう, みましょう, とります, ことし, いきました, and いっしょに. With each lesson that we review, I feel that my Japanese speaking and listening improves drastically. Lesson 3 has really helped me to expand my language skills.

いいビデオですね。にほんごのじまく(subtitles)も、いいですね。That's great that you recognized so many たんご!
