Our Secret Diary (一月二十五日)
For this weekend’s blog しゅくだい, えいがをみました。えいがのなまえは “Our Secret Diary” です。これはローマンスのえいがですから、すきです。I only watched 45 minutes of this movie, but I was already very invested. とてもおもしろいですよ。This movie is about two students, Nozomi and Setoyama, who exchange secret letters to one another. However, Setoyama thinks he is communicating with Nozomi’s friend. This movie was a little challenging in terms of listening since it is very causal, でもちょっとわかります!I only used えいご subtitles for this movie, but it was very helpful.
While watching this movie, I was able to recognize several words from previous lessons. I was also able to find new たんご and grammar from our current lesson, lesson 6. Some of the vocabulary words, from previous lessons, that I heard were the following:
じかん
あります
今 (いま)
てがみ
から (to indicate the start/beginning of something)
ネコとイヌ
いっしょに
いもうと
いつも
もういちど
十月 (じゅういちがつ)
この (this + noun)
その (that + noun)
ノート
I was able to hear a lot of adjectives as well! These include:
かっこいい
いそがしい
あたらしい
Throughout the movie, I heard the characters use the new “-て/って ください” command form that we have discussed in class. An example is: ちょっとまって. I was able to hear characters use the new しる verb, as well as the new たんご like “あし” and “みじかい” to describe that something is short in length.

「てください」をcatchしましたね!すごい! えいがの日本語がわかりますね。
