聞くのしゅくだい (3月23日)

こんにちは。

今日、うたを聞きましたよ!The songs that I listened to in 日本語 were What is Love by TWICE and Butterfly by BTS.

This song is very upbeat and also rather easy to keep up with! The song contained a lot of unfamiliar verbs and words, but I was still able to find a number of familiar words and phrases throughout, specifically question words.

Some of the words that I was able to recognize are the following:

  • どんな
  • 中 (なか)
  • 物 (もの)
  • えいが
  • 体 (からだ)
  • どこ
  • から
  • 今 (いま)
  • 一人 (ひとり)
  • 何 (なに)
  • 何時 (なんじ)
  • いつも
  • Additionally, I was able to spot out a number of words with the -て form within it. Another thing that I picked up from this video/song was that the word かんじ in Japanese translates somewhat into the word “feeling.”

I thought this song was slower paced, besides the rap part, compared to other Japanese songs I’ve listened to in the past! I was able to find familiar words or some variation of words we have learned. It was very helpful for me to have access to both the Japanese and English subtitles as it also helps me with reading.

Outcomes: I recognized a number of Japanese words that we have talked about, including plain forms of verbs. The words that I found are the following:

  • 今 (いま)
  • まだ
  • 何も (なにも)
  • いらない (though we haven’t learned the meaning of this word, it is in the plain form!)
  • 見せて (みせて)
  • ほんと
  • こわい
  • 時間 (じかん)
  • とまって (a good example of a verb in -て form!)
